Dr. Ahmad Raza, MD, MHA is a staff physician in the Oncology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Raza served as Assistant Professor of Hematology and Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center New York, US, and as Director, Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center NewYork Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, US.
Dr. Raza completed his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College Multan, Pakistan. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology from the Division of Hematology Oncology and Transplant, University of Minnesota, US. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training from St Barnabas Hospital Weill Medical College of Cornell University New York, US, where he was named for the best resident of the year award. He earned a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the Division of Health Policy and Management, University of Minnesota School of Public Health, US.
Dr. Raza’s full time practice at Columbia University included all solid tumors, malignant hematology and malignant hematology. He was named among the best doctors in Westchester County, New York, US. At NewYork Presbyterian he was a member of the Medical Board and chair of the transfusion committee. He established a lung cancer screening program and also established a clinical trial program at Hudson Valley hospital.
Prior to that, Dr. Ahmad Raza served as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplant at University of Minnesota Medical Center, US. He served a large patient base at M Health Cancer Care community sites and also at the Masonic Cancer Clinic. He was nominated by the patients for the Fairview Foundation ‘champion of care’ award for many years consecutively. He also served as Medical Director at the Community Oncology University of Minnesota Health (M Health) Cancer Care Service Line. He successfully led a large oncology practice across multiple community clinical sites.
Dr. Raza has a robust laboratory-based research background and this work has resulted in many publications in peer reviewed journals. The focus of his research has been development of new treatments for cancer with less toxicity. Dr. Raza has a strong belief that the best cancer care is delivered through cutting edge clinical research, and he has contributed at many levels to establish clinical trial programs. He is very passionate as a teacher and has mentored students from St. Olaf College Minnesota, US, taught a blood pathophysiology course at the University of Minnesota Medical School and mentored residents at fellows.
Dr. Ahmad Raza resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and four children.
