Dr. Amir Malik, MBBS, is a Staff Physician for Nephrology in the Medical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Malik worked as a Consultant Nephrologist at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust in the National Health Service of the UK. In addition to his clinical interaction with inpatients, outpatients and dialysis units, he was the governance lead for his department and ensured safety of patients. He has been actively involved in education and has overseen the training of foundation and core medical trainees. His research has led to publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has more than sixteen years of experience in the acute and chronic management of kidney disorders, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatment.
Dr. Malik acquired membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), Edinburgh in 2000 and completed a specialist registrar nephrology training (CCT Renal) from the teaching hospitals of Edinburgh, Nottingham and London in 2007. He was awarded degree of Doctor of Medicine (DM) by the University of Nottingham in 2010.
Dr. Malik is married to his psychiatrist wife and has one daughter. He enjoys traveling and reading.
