Dr. Faris Ahmed, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Programs within the Medical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Faris was Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Alabama, Birmingham, US.
Dr. Faris received his medical degree from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. He completed his internal medicine residency at Penn state University, Pennsylvania, US, and nephrology fellowship training at the University of Chicago and kidney transplant fellowship at University of Vanderbilt, US.
He then moved to the University of Utah and worked for 5 years as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the department of nephrology and kidney and pancreas transplant institute. He then moved to the University of Alabama as Associate Professor of medicine and worked as a transplant nephrologist in the comprehensive transplant institute.
Currently, Dr. Ahmed resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and two children. When he’s not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer.
