George Pascal Haber

George Pascal Haber, MD, PhD, is Chief Executive Office of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and a Staff Physician within the Surgical Subspecialties Institute’s Urology Department.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Haber worked in the Department of Urology at Glickman Urological Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, US. He is also a Professor of Surgery (Urology) at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Haber completed his executive education at both Wharton and Harvard Business Schools and earned his medical and doctorate degrees in France.

A visionary leader, innovator in robotic and oncologic surgery, and COVID-era operations authority, Dr. Haber rocketed to the forefront of Urology as the youngest ever Chairman of Cleveland Clinic’s Glickman Urologic Institute, ranked #1 in reputation by U.S. News & World Report and #2 in the world by Newsweek.

After taking the helm at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Haber doubled the number of urology patients served while prioritizing safety and reducing the rate of major complications by 40% and decreased the length of stay of high complexity patients by 50%.

As Professor of Surgery and Chairman of Urology, Dr. Haber built Cleveland Clinic’s global presence by performing surgeries and visiting professorships in more than a dozen countries. He served on the editorial board and as Section Editor of Engineering and Technology for Urology’s “Gold Journal” and published more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Under his leadership, the residency program became the largest urology training program in the country and achieved a #1 national ranking as determined by Doximity.

Dr. Haber has led surgical teams in performing the first ever robotic scar-free removal of a healthy kidney for transplant in Europe, the first large series of scar-free kidney and prostate surgeries performed through the belly button, the first ever robotic kidney transplant in the UAE, and multiple firsts at Cleveland Clinic including the first robotic intracorporeal urinary diversion, robotic autotransplant and robotic Level 3 IVC thrombectomy.

During the early stages of the COVID pandemic, he marshaled the Cleveland Clinic surge planning team, applying predictive analytics to develop strategies to prepare for surges, the suspension of surgeries, and the recovery of surgical backlog. By diverting and balancing surgical patients and COVID patients across the enterprise, the team maximized the number of patients served while minimizing the financial impact on the health system.

In addition to his extensive impact on the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Haber has applied his expertise as a thought leader to shape the future of healthcare delivery by co-founding and serving as an inaugural Board Member of Bering Health. This digital health startup provides hybrid low acuity care using a combination of AI, asynchronous appointments and in person appointments.
