Dr. Hamed Anwar, MBBS, is a Staff Physician in the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Anwar held consultant posts at Moorfields Eye Center and Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, both in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Anwar received his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College, Pakistan, and completed his ophthalmology training at the Northern Deanery rotation, Newcastle, UK. This was followed by a Corneal surgery fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK.
His interests include the treatment of corneal disorders such as keratoconus, scarring and inflammation. He also specializes in vision correction surgery using lasers and implantable lenses. He has received numerous awards for his work on lamellar corneal transplant surgery for keratoconus.
Dr. Anwar resides in Abu Dhabi with his family. He is an avid photographer and enjoys the outdoors.
