Dr. Lameese Tabaja

Dr. Lameese Tabaja, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Tabaja worked in Brussels, Belgium where she earned her colorectal surgery degree from the Catholic University of Louvain and was awarded several academic scholarships.

Dr. Tabaja completed her colorectal surgery subspecialty in Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc (UC Louvain), Brussels after completing her general surgery specialty degree at Beirut Arab University, the main tertiary care center in Lebanon. During her training she acquired extensive experience in managing complex general and colorectal conditions.

Dr. Tabaja has a diploma in advanced laparoscopic surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France. She also has a diploma and specialized training certificate in robotic surgery from Strasbourg, France and the European Society of Surgical Oncology from Hamburg, Germany.

Dr. Tabaja’s clinical expertise is in complex and advanced colorectal and anal surgeries. She is passionate about colorectal surgery with a special interest in Pelvic Floor Surgery. She

is the Director of the Pelvic Floor unit at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a program she started in 2018. She has extensive experience and interest in pelvic floor dysfunction and continence including advances in diagnostics and treatment modalities. With the support of her multidisciplinary team, she is passionate about offering the best care and most recent advances in complex pelvic floor issues.

Dr. Tabaja has published numerous articles and book chapters and has presented at major national and international conferences. She is actively involved in colorectal surgery training and academic activities at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
