Dr. Mohamed S. Sayed

Dr. Mohamed S. Sayed, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Sayed was Chief of Glaucoma and Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Dubai. He also held the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, FL, US, where he trained residents and fellows.

Dr. Sayed completed his fellowship training in glaucoma as well as pediatric ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. His areas of expertise are in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataract, including laser surgery, customized cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), surgery for complex glaucoma (trabeculectomy and tube shunt devices), and combined cataract and glaucoma surgery.

Dr. Sayed is active in clinical research with numerous publications in major ophthalmology journals and book chapters to his credit, focusing on glaucoma surgical techniques and laser surgery. He received a prestigious award for clinician scientists from American Glaucoma Society to conduct research on artificial intelligence in glaucoma. He regularly presents his research at international meetings and has been invited to conduct training workshops on glaucoma surgical techniques in globally.

Dr. Sayed is a Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology, and a Diplomate of the Saudi Board of Ophthalmology. He serves on the Multimedia Committee of the American Glaucoma Society.
