Dr. Muhammad Asif Baig, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Digestive Disease Institute, at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Baig served as a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Primary Transplant Hepatologist, at Pakistan’s largest Liver Transplant Program, for over three years.
Dr. Baig received his medical degree from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. He completed his internship, Medicine & Gastroenterology residency at The Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan. He then pursued fellowship training in Hepatology at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.
Dr. Baig’s primary areas of clinical and research interest include general/transplant hepatology and liver and hepatobiliary endoscopy. He has written numerous publications and has delivered presentations at national and international scientific meetings, with a primary focus on liver disease and liver transplantation.
Dr Baig also has a special interest in advanced endoscopic procedures, has performed a number of ERCP’s, a large number of which related to post liver transplant biliary stricture.
Dr. Baig resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching cricket, swimming and other outdoor activities.
