15Dr. Riad Alchanan, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Imaging Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. Alchanan is competent in all aspects of Interventional Radiology. His work involves vascular and oncological interventions, as well as managing acute and complex trauma cases, amongst others.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Alchanan completed his specialty training in diagnostic and interventional radiology in the UK and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). He also completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at King’s College Hospital in London and was subsequently appointed as a consultant in 2017 and worked for five years. Dr. Alchanan also completed structured training in Neurointervention at King’s College Hospital in London and has obtained the European Diploma in Stroke Intervention in 2022.
Dr. Alchanan received his medical degree from the Latvian University. He has authored and co-authored several publications in major medical journals and contributed chapters in medical books. Dr Alchanan also presentedin several meetings at an international level.
Currently, Dr. Alchanan resides in Abu Dhabi. When he’s not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Alchanan is a keen athlete and has a national title in Kickboxing in 2007. He currently enjoys kitesurfing and other watersport activities.
