Dr. Shuayb K Elkhalifa

Dr. Shuayb Elkhalifa, MBBS, MRCP, FRCPath, is a Staff Physician within the Allergy & Immunology Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Medical Specialty Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Elkhalifa was a consultant of Allergy and Immunology at Salford Care Organization, Northern Care Alliance Foundation Trust, UK and Honorary Lecturer at The University of Manchester, UK

Dr. Elkhalifa received his medical degree from University of Khartoum, Sudan, and completed his Internal Medicine, Allergy and Immunology training at Greater Manchester Hospitals, UK.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Elkhalifa has specialized in clinical assessment, investigation, treatment, and holistic management of patients with suspected and established immunodeficiency (primary and secondary, excluding HIV-related immunodeficiencies) and atopic & allergic conditions, in addition to various disorders of immune dysregulation. He has worked closely with primary care, pediatricians, and other hospital specialists to manage patients with complex allergic and immune-mediated diseases.

Dr. Elkhalifa has published extensively in the field of immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, COVID-19 vaccination, drug allergy and anaphylaxis in prestigious Journals such as Nature, the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, in practice and others.

Dr. Elkhalifa has an outstanding track record in innovation. He developed the first UK drug allergy App. His commitment to promoting excellence and improving care, his innovative ideas and implementing them translated to awards from regional and national bodies in the UK.

Dr. Elkhalifa has taken several National and International leadership and managerial positions at various allergy and immunology associations, societies and committees.

Currently, Dr. Elkhalifa resides in Abu Dhabi, with his family. When he's not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Elkhalifa enjoys travelling and exploring the wonderful worlds with his family. He enjoys various sports particularly swimming, running and Pilates.
