Dr. Umer Darr, MD, is the Division Chair within the Cardiac Surgery Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Darr was on faculty at Yale University, School of Medicine.
Dr. Darr received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his cardiac residency at Yale University.
Dr. Darr specializes in coronary surgery, valve repairs, aneurysms and cardiomyopathy (HOCM) surgery. Throughout his tenure, he has performed more than 5000 open heart surgeries
Dr. Darr resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife Dana and son Haider. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking and travelling
