Dr. Werner Gerntholtz

Dr. Werner Gerntholtz, MD, is a Consultant Emergency Physician at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Emergency Medicine Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Gerntholtz worked as a Consultant Emergency Physician at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and as an Emergency Physician at Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, Canada.

Dr. Gerntholtz received his medical degree from the University of the Freestate, Bloemfontein, South Africa and received his Certification in Family Medicine and Certificate in Special Competence in Emergency Medicine from the College of Family Physicians, Toronto, Canada.

During his career, Dr. Gerntholtz has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students and post graduate residents and has held the positions of Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and Core Faculty at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Dr. Gerntholtz resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and three children. He enjoys mountain biking and travelling.
