Chief Executive Officer Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
George Pascal Haber, MD, PhD, serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group. Dr. Haber leads a team of over 5,600 caregivers, focusing on strategic growth, innovation, and excellence in high-acuity care. His leadership is instrumental in aligning with Cleveland Clinic and M42’s shared mission to drive innovation and implement tech-enabled health solutions, transforming the traditional healthcare landscape. In addition to focusing on his role as CEO, Dr. Haber will continue to practice as a urologist specializing in robotic surgery.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Haber served as Chairman of the Glickman Urologic and Kidney Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. In this role, he significantly expanded patient services, enhanced surgical outcomes, and maintained the institute’s status as one of the top-ranked urology centers globally
In over two decades of experience within the Cleveland Clinic global network, Dr. Haber has cemented his reputation as a surgical innovator. He led his surgical teams in performing the first ever scar-free removal of a healthy kidney for transplant in Europe, the first large series of scar-free kidney and prostate surgery performed through the belly button, the first ever robotic kidney transplant in the UAE, and multiple firsts at Cleveland Clinic including first robotic intracorporeal urinary diversion, robotic autotransplant and robotic Level 3 IVC thrombectomy.
Dr. Haber’s academic contributions dovetail with his surgical innovations and reflect his strong commitment to medical research and education. He has authored over 250 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has served as a visiting professor in over a dozen countries. Under his leadership, Cleveland Clinic’s urology residency training program became the largest urology training program in the United States and maintained a #1 national ranking.
Dr. Haber completed his executive education at Wharton and Harvard Business Schools; his clinical fellowship in robotic urologic surgery at Cleveland Clinic; and his Master of Science in Surgical Oncology, PhD in Biotechnology, and medical training in France.
Chief of Staff and Interim Chief Medical Officer
Mumtaz Jamshed Khan, MD, MBA is the Chief of Staff, and the Interim Chief Medical Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group. In his role as Chief of Staff he leads more than 400 physicians across 15 institutes, supporting their wellbeing and the continuous improvement of care they offer patients.
Dr Khan joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2018 and has served as the Chief Medical Officer and Department Chair of Otolaryngology in the Surgical Subspecialties Institute. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Khan worked as Staff Physician in the Head & Neck Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio; and also served as Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education and Professor and Director of Head and Neck Surgery at Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan.
Dr. Khan received his medical degree from Aga Khan University. After completing his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, he pursued fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology, Skull Base and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery from Vanderbilt University. He has held a range of administrative positions in addition to his clinical work throughout his career and holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare Management from Brandeis University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Chief Operating Officer
Marc Petre is Chief Operating Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, an integral part of the M42 group. As part of the leadership team at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Marc oversees numerous key departments, including facilities, construction, safety, regulatory compliance, emergency management, protective services, parking, environmental services, laundry, food service, supply chain management, and patient hospitality.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Marc served as Cleveland Clinic’s Executive Director for Clinical Engineering since February 2011, managing the daily and strategic activities for Clinical Engineering across the enterprises’ 18 hospitals and associated outpatient centers. Marc worked through Cleveland Clinic Innovations to commercialize several technical solutions developed at the bedside, including a platform for telemedicine which was deployed across Cleveland Clinic’s US facilities. Additionally, he supported the Cleveland Clinic’s international activities in London and Canada, and has significant expertise in High Level Disinfection compliance and safety across health systems.
During his tenure at Cleveland Clinic, Marc was recognized as an experienced leader, an inventor of patented solutions, an innovator, an educator, and a highly-skilled professional in the logistics, strategy, and community aspects of healthcare. Marc earned his Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati before receiving his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the Biomedical Engineering Society and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
Chief Administrative Officer
Dr. Mubarak Aldarmaki is the Chief Administrative Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group. In this role, he is responsible for government and regulatory relations in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE, and coordinating care transitions among government facilities and clinical providers. He is also responsible for the Office of Facilitated Access. Dr. Aldarmaki was most recently Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Senior Director, Office of Facilitated Access. Previously, he was the Chief of the Emirates Field Hospital at Dubai Parks and Resorts as part of the UAE’s coordinated response to address COVID-19, and held senior leadership roles at SEHA facilities including Al Rahba Hospital, Al Mafraq Hospital and Ambulatory Healthcare Services.
With degrees in Medicine and Surgery from UAE University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Aldarmaki brings more than 15 years of medical and professional healthcare management experience to his role.
Chief Financial Officer
Francois van Zyl is the Chief Financial Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 network. With over two decades of experience in healthcare finance, Francois leads the hospital’s financial strategy, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
Francois joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2010 as Executive Director of Finance, where he led key initiatives in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, contributing significantly to the hospital’s pre-operational financial planning and development. His expertise was instrumental in laying the foundation for the hospital’s long-term success. Under his leadership, the hospital implemented financial models that reduced costs and enhanced performance, solidifying Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s position as a leader in healthcare innovation.
Before his tenure at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Francois held senior financial roles in various healthcare organizations across the UAE and South Africa, including United Medical and Allied Diagnostics, as well as AngloGold Health Service. His experience spans across hospitals, diagnostics, and insurance sectors, making him a versatile leader in healthcare finance.
Francois holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed executive leadership programs at Cleveland Clinic’s Samson Global Leadership Academy for Healthcare Executives.
Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Sawsan Abdel-Razig, MD, MEHP, is Chief Academic Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and a Staff Physician within the Medical Subspecialties Institute. She previously served as the Director of Medical Education in the Academic Office. Dr. Abdel-Razig is responsible for the development and administration of medical education and clinical research programs at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Abdel-Razig served as the head of the medical education section at the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) from 2010 to 2015 and internal medicine consultant at Mafraq Hospital. In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Abdel-Razig was responsible for the development and regulatory oversight of health professionals’ graduate medical education programs and continuing professional development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Dr. Abdel-Razig is a clinician educator who has served as a residency program director, teaching faculty and continues to pursue various forms of educational scholarship. She serves as adjunct assistant professor at New York University Medical School and teaching faculty at the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Abdel-Razig received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT, US. She completed her residency at New York University Medical Center in NY, US. Dr. Abdel-Razig received her Master's in Education of Health Professionals from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, US.
Chief Information Officer
Bryan Lord is the Chief Information Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group. In his role, Bryan manages the hospital’s IT infrastructure, enabling it to take advantage of the latest innovations in the health technology domain.Bryan has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector. He has been with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi since 2010. Prior to that, Bryan served as Development Manager at Providence Health & Services in Portland, in the United States.
Bryan holds a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, Portland, USA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Portland State University, USA.
Chief Nursing Officer
Elizabeth Govero, DNP, MSN, is the Chief Nursing Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. With 25 years of experience in clinical and executive nursing leadership roles in both public and private institutions, she brings in-depth knowledge and expertise, especially in critical care, to our team.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Elizabeth was the Vice President of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Missouri. She started of her career as the Assistant Nurse Manager at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Missouri before taking on other leadership roles, including Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing Operations at the HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, both in Illinois.
Elizabeth has a wealth of experience in critical and acute care and has led nursing teams of up to 900. Key accomplishments include reducing the nursing turnover rate from 35 to 15 percent in a period of six months, leading organization-wide transitions to new system rollouts and implementing various educational institutes and programs such as the HSHS SID Nursing Education Institute. She was able to improve colleague engagement from 76 percent to 93 percent in one year and was also able to increase patient satisfaction as part of her commitment to improving patient experience, in her previous roles.
Elizabeth obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare and Nursing Administration, at Southern Illinois University. She is also a Certified Med-Surgical Registered Nurse. Peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations include the “New Nurse Manager Checklist for Foundational Success” and “Leading Clinical Performance Improvement for Medication Reconciliation Utilizing LEAN Concepts.” At Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Elizabeth’s role encompasses leading the nursing team and introducing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiencies while maintaining the quality and safety of care at the organization.
Chief Human Capital Officer
Ali Al Jawdar is the Chief Human Capital Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group., leading the development and execution of the organization’s Human Capital strategy and initiatives in line with the hospital’s overall ‘patients first’ mission and strategic direction.Ali has been with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi since 2016, where he has led several projects relating to Caregiver Experience, Emiratization, Housing, and Human Capital Systems. Prior to that, he worked at Mubadala Investment Company and has held different positions in the areas of support and shared services.
Ali holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from Abu Dhabi University.
