Patient & Family Education is a significant part of a nurse’s role and takes patient care beyond clinical duties such as providing medication and administering treatments. The Patient & Family Education team are responsible for educating patients and their families about how they can manage their medical condition themselves. They advise on what patients can do to keep themselves well and safe, and provide important awareness and understanding of disease prevention.
By educating patients and their families, our nurses help patients take control of their healthcare. When patients are involved in their care, they feel empowered and are more likely to engage in interventions that support more positive outcomes.
