Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Medical Imaging Internship Program has been designed to support new graduates transitioning from studentship to the routines, practice standards and accountability of professional general radiographers.
The Medical Imaging Internship Program is designed to provide recent radiography graduates with practical experience and training in the field of medical imaging. During this program, trainees typically work under the supervision of experienced radiographers and gain hands-on skills in operating imaging equipment, positioning patients, and producing diagnostic images. They also learn about patient care, radiation safety, and medical ethics. These programs aim to prepare graduates for a successful career as independent radiographers while ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
How long is the program?
The Medical Imaging Internship is a 6-month program. It will provide a comprehensive variety of learning opportunities to facilitate the consolidation and refinement of knowledge and skills acquired during undergraduate studies. The intern will be supported and supervised by designated Coaches through 4 clinical rotations, namely BMD, General x-ray /portables, Operation Rooms/pain clinic and Fluoroscopy to guide the GRI through the learning and professional development journey.
What is the aim of the program?
The aim of the program is to enable the medical imaging intern to confidently enter the workforce as a competent, accountable professional, able to perform autonomously to the expected standards of practice at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and those specified by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and the Health Care Professions Council (UK) (HCPC)
